Hi all.

Just ran into this link .

We allways checked paper versus digital charts, but this missing of a small chart like this on C-map (we were using Maxsea) gives me the creeps.

We passed Torres coming from Vanuata on a straigt run to Darwin, so this particular one wouldn't have affected us, but are there more?

Would we have noticed? Brrr.

On the other hand: it keeps you sharp.

Jan

There is a similar problem with the Garmin charts. In the old Bahama Channel there is about a 15 mile empty space where 2 charts are supposed to join and a large portion of the bank is missing. This is shallow enough that it must be sailed around avoiding the Bahama side of the channel. Thank goodness for a backup navigation system. The Maptech chart showed the missing area. Several times I have found Garmin charts lacking and have turned to the Maptech system.
