Default Camping Away from Boat

This is just a question of interest, but i was wondering if it is legal to be homeless and camping out in forested areas (or anywhere you can find) in the interier of countries as to travel for free without any hotel costs or anything. I know this is extremely broad as it varies so incredibly for all the countries envoriments availibility etc.etc.etc but i would just like some feadback on this only way i can think of free way of traveling to the interior.

thank you =)

we are just comming back from a 2 1/2 months and 18 000 km of traveling in South America - Uruguay - Argentina - Chile.. and except on night in a national park, we never went to a camping...

Absolutely NO problem and legal there..

I have traveled around the planet, camped where ever I wanted, however Iam a nam vet,and I camp where nobody in their right mind would bother to hike in and try to do anything to me . I have had a few problems local drunks and kids looking a fight. in some third world countries people live along the road side anyway. I just dress myself like them, blend in. act acordingly

I guess it comes down to where your going. Some places are to risky with the likely hood of thieves and having problems with the locals. Most of those places are fine during the day but I'd prefer to return to the relative safety of my yacht for the night and unhassled rest. It isn't the environment that would bring your question undone - it is the people in that environment!!

Regards

Peter
