Is it possible to have an internet connection while cruising that is economical and reliable?

I have not been on a sailboat for several years so am not up to date on current technical equipment available for world cruising.

Thanks for any input on internet connections, satelite, radar, GPS, wind generators and desalinators!

Hello,

Access to the internet at sea is still expensive in terms of the equipment required. However, access to email via Hf radio is free via Winlink (provided one has a ham licence) and via sailmail relatively inexpensive - something like $250 pa.

As to the other questions raised - answers are to be found in our various forums via our search

facility and of course in our cruiser's WIKI.

Another great benefit of Winlink is a wide selection of weather products available for download upon request.
