and some of her songs

I am impressed by her courage, though not having much more than electronic charts is a bit worrying to me. but, that's my hobby horse, not others.

i absolutely agree with you Jeanne. I had not planned on the stop and of all that occured in the final prep, the electronic chart was a back up. But i had great reservations about stopping. The weather conditions cooperated and it worked out. but not having a paper chart was unnerving. fortunately my alternator kicked in, and with the GPS signal it was an effective chartplotter. The night never got dark and the channel broad and straight forward. it was very easy routing as Jonathan had said it would be.

I am presently in Ushuaia for a new alternator and minor repair and will be heading out the end of the month for the run up to Rhode Island. A most highly recommended destination in the world. incredible sailing, challenging environment, amazing people. Certainly I have been amazed at the effectiveness of the added weather equipment i have on board. It made a tremendous differnce in my peace of mind and ability to route myself on this trip.
