Red, I would not hesitate to buy a boat you and yours rebuilt for the reason you pointed out. So for me the well known builder has little effect on my decision to buy a boat. Insurance not withstanding some folks just do a good job.

My understanding is that John Lidgard himself oversaw a lot of the build and boat builders from his boat building company were also involved at critical stages.
