Formosa decks

Hi all,

I am new to this log but an avid sailor looking to buy and rebuild a Formosa yacht for the family.

Does anyone know the exact composition of the Formosa decks?

From the top down towards the inner ceiling: I see the teak deck, then imagine plywood, then fiberglass (through which most of different lengths of screws penetrated the fiberglass) and then, on the frame as I reach the ceiling, more ply wood and the ceiling wood? Anymore fiberglass?

Does this make sense? Thank you for any help!

The deck may be a cored material other than plywood. Suggest you hire a surveyor to take a look at the boat and ascertain something about the condition of the particular deck.

Sorry to not be more helpful but it does vary by boat, year, etc. Even two boats built at the same time can have widely different deck conditions.
