Default From talking about it, to actually doing it.

I was talking with someone recently who had cruised in the past. We talked about the path my wife and I have taken and the plans to shove off.

He made a comment that I had not really considered before, that a very low percentage of people get to the point we are in our preparations. We have been on the boat for 18 months, and have been getting Vagabon fitted for the journey. We have 32 months to go, and at times it seems like a long time, and other times I feel like I need to get moving faster.

So what % do you think go from the fantasy/talk stage to actually doing it?

Really depends a lot on the extent of repairs needed, the available time to do them and finances. I'm 2 years into the restoration of a 35' ferro and seem to be barely keeping ahead of entropy. :-)

IP 35, what could go wrong ? What are you doing to it ? Being in the PNW I would guess you are going to start by cruising down my way (LA Ca.) or maybe not , my neighbor is fitting out his Westsail 32 and plans on Alaska via Hawaii ! Good luck to you and yours , Dave .
