Hi Dorig,

The way you write in English I really do not think you'll have a problem with the spoken word.

Good luck

I don't think you will have any severe problems, except for failing to catch the punchlines in a few jokes about how come the english cricketers are currently so woeful.

Concentrate on listening to the skippers accent as he will be the one to issue critical commands at stressful times.

Look upon this as a chance to improve your English too.....and enjoy yourself. The bottom line is not how well you speak the language but how well everyone gets on together. I have sailed in boats where some people hardly spoke to each other despite having a common language. I have also sailed on boats where there were language barriers but everyone got on very wel.

Bon voyage!

Stephen

Being able to speak French will be a good asset for the boat in many ports. I'm american and have had english crew...I think french might be easier to understand at times. You will have a good time with the language if you don't take mistakes seriously.
