Hello all,
I've read through all of the very helpful tips here on the cruiser sailing forums, and was hoping to get some specific buying advice if possible?
I have a budget of 50-75k u.s., and would like to buy a boat that would be good for weekend trips along the Pacific Northwest, specifically for diving, AND would also be good for cruising the world a couple of years down the road. Having easy access from the rear of the boat would be great for diving, but I don't want a racer, and this seems to be the only sort of boat I see rear entry available on. If there's some sort of strap-on contraption that would work as a dive platform on a regular hull, I'd love to know about it!
I'm looking for a 26-32 footer. Something small and low maintenance, safe, fun to sail, good for 1-3 people? Interior space and speed are not as important to me as other factors... I should also add that I'm set on a single hull boat.
I'm also not looking for a fixer-upper or a 30 year old boat, as age worries me.
Is this list of wants at all possible?
I appreciate any help. Specific boat suggestions would be great if possible, as opposed to "there are hundreds of boats in your range"
Much appreciated in advance,
Dave
