I'm in beautiful San Carlos. It's cold, but the desert air is so clear and crisp that the mountains surrounding the marina look like something from another world.
Great marina, lots of very good helpful people and some very nice cruising people. I'm doing a big 'chuck-out' on the boat. It's full of crap, such as flares which expired in the 80's and PFDs which simply wouldn't 'F'.
It's a good boat however and as soon as I clean all the garbage out, I can rig it and see just what it requires to make an ocean crossing.
Who would have thought? A lesson I failed to learn in Thailand: If you look and act like you don't understand the currency, a $2 taxi ride will always cost $10. Thieving bas***d!
Today, I am going on a shopping trip to buy the basics; cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils, linen, coffee maker and other similar items without which, life has no meaning.
Now..back to practice. Uno cervesa por favor...uno cervesa po......
