I installed these Edson instrument enclosures last month when I was installing the new linear hydraulic autopilot. I'm using the wheel pilot as a back-up now.

There isn't room for a single additional wire in those tubes!

Just added some interior photos to the blog.

I can't wait to push-off and head your direction...when I get there, maybe I'll give cricket a go

Looks like a great setup.

I like how you can clearly see the chartplotter while steering (if you are in the mood for steering - clearly optional).

If your eysight is anything like mine (I'm approaching 50), no need to squint.

+ no need to scurry down to the Nav table below.

I'm 6'4", making it easy for me to see over the instrument pods. A lot of people would have a difficult time seeing over the top row of instruments. My neighbor who is 5'5" came down and stood behind the helm and was lost. Said he felt like he was in the cockpit of the space shuttle.

I sailed most of my life with only a compass at the helm...so I really only look at the instruments for reference. The most important pod to me is the engine instruments. I believe it is critical in an emergency that you be able to start and stop your engine from the helm without moving from the steering location.
