How do you like it? Please report any "bugs" you may come across.

You can choose between this skin and the "old" IPB Default skin from the panel at bottom L/H side of this page.

Now is a good time to update your personal profile.

Sorry, but I prefer the old one. Don't like the overly bold colouring/stronger contrast and smaller font but, more importantly find that there's just too much wasted space on the page to get a decent overview of anything more than a couple of posts - F11 helps but ..... I'm off back to one of the other possibilities!

See ya

Greetings,

As a graphic and web designer myself, let me say that your web designer/author has done an excellent job with this site. For ease of use and functionality - its great!

I'm am very much aware of the tremendous time and effort involved in both creating and maintaining such a site - and I would hazard a guess that this is more a labour of love for your designer as opposed to a project that will see them paid mega bucks and secure an early retirement to the south of France! Congratulations for your dedication!

That being the case, please accept my comments on the reskin in the goodwill they are intended.

The problem with running a dark background, especially in a 'framed' format is that optically it will dominate the site and everything within the frame will immediately look smaller and overwhelmed.

This is particularly true with text on a lighter background surrounded by a strong framing.

The previous format looked much less heavy and was a lot easier on the eye - which was largely due to the use of white space. In saying that though, I probably would have just looked at creating a stronger header and leave the rest more or less as it was.

I have a rule of thumb for my design staff..... 'Content is King'

If the design/graphic treatments get in the way of ensuring the legibility of the message - then perhaps a slight amendment might be required.

Well - that's my two bobs worth

Great site people! Keep up the fantastic work!

The spaces above and below the Google Adsense block is noted and will be corrected.

The dark text on dark background in some areas to be corrected.

The calender problem noted & to be corrected

Wiki & Blog headers to be corrected.

Suggestion:

Minimise those forum boards that you are not particularly interested in - "minimise/maximise" icon next to each board header text.

The more I use this skin the more I like it - I find it easier to read and will be good when the above faults are corrected.

So far good, no bugs found and the new look is first class! Well done!

I like the new skin and find it looks excellent. The design is refreshing, easy to read and certainly more professional in appearance.

Compliment!

Michael

I appreciate the good colors but do find it a bit contrast-y to read with the new scheme. I'm happy that the cruiserlog is here at all, so I can't really complain--do what you'd like with it, but I'd like just a bit less eye strain from the contrast. I go back to the IPB Default skin if my eyes are tired.

Overall I would have to agree with Mico. I find the dark blue too dominating. Apart from the colours its fine. After a few days looking at the new version, I switched back to the original to compare and found this much more restful on the eyes. Still its the content I enjoy reading, always interesting and some good helpful advice.

A couple of "tweaks" were done to the Custom CL skin today - hard-to-read dark text, etc. It is very much better now.

Please vote in the poll above!

I started a thread expressing that I couldn't get use to the new forum. Sometimes what we know is comfortable!
