Angry Stream Stay 1

As any one used the shortening kit from Rig-Rite to shorten or repair a Stream Stay furling unit ? The rod for my jib unit recently snap off right at the cone. I have tried numerous to contact Rig-Rite but they refuse to send me the instructions on how this is done and the local shipyard refuses to quote on the job til they have the information !! A catch 22 here. I would like to hear from someone who could email me the instructions or direct me to a boatyard who would. Situation getting desperate.
