What is the Refugee Status in the Med these days??

With the incredible traffic heading towards Europe, I've heard of extra patrols on the water and warnings of small unlit craft between Africa and EU.
So what really is the effect on cruising yachtsmen and is it something to be concerned over?

Probably you won't see any refugee boats on the water. It is not, that they are now in line like in Walmart. You have more Mexicans visible in the USA than we have refugees on the water visible. At this very Moment there are not to many refugees coming because of the winter. In the summer, they will be expecting your yacht, to travel fancy...
