SY Quickstep finally arrived into Victoria Docks at Gloucester City Central basin UK at 1200hrs Thursday 18th November 2010, having been sailed back to UK after her completion of her circumnavigation in October 2008 off Sines in South Portugal. She was laid up for 2 years at Povoa De Varzim ( which is NOT a good long term Marina) . She finally departed Portugal to return to her new berth in October 2010 and despite atrocious weather patterns marching across the Atlantic covered the 800 or so sea miles to Gloucester in 5 days of sailing, mostly under 3 reefs and very little , if any , headsail. With an average speed of approx 6.6 knots for the entire trip. Attached is her tied up in the BWML docks at Gloucester and her permannet berth whilst she is refitted and spruced up for the 2011 sailing season..

So glad that you completed your journey safely.

We would love to hear more about your travels as well.

And, of course, it will be exciting to hear what you'll be doing in 2011 and beyond.

Fair winds
