I know that we all give names to our boat's systems and equipment.

Some of ours:

Boat: The Fat Lady (she was very beamy)

Generator: Donk (donkey)

Autopilot: James (take me home James)

The Admiral at the helm: MrsSchmidt (a picture of concentration and straight as a dye)

What are yours?

The only thing we've managed to name so far is a nickname for our boat. Umm...well...she's a hefty girl... and she has a ...large...transom...and a bit of shear.....and well, we've taken to calling her...

Duck Butt.

We have a very old spinnacker, we seldom use. We call it "Thomas", because it has black and read stripes. We called it Thomas, because for a long time we thought that the bee Maya has a friend named "Thomas", who is black and red. Meanwile we learned, that this is not the correct name. But we did not want to rename our Spi, so it is still called "Thomas" .

And our wind generator has the name "Wind-Otto". We don't know why.

All other parts don't have names. That's boring.

My wife always steers the boat. When sailing to windward, she is always a little bit high. accordingly, I call her "Hippie".
