Hey Yawl

We entered Gallivanter into the annual Pigs on the Water Race last weekend - a "race" of overloaded, junk laiden, liveaboard sailboats from St Thomas, USVI to Norman Island, BVI. It was a heap of fun... complete with pig roast at Norman that night.

Everything went perfectly - nobody got hurt & nothing broke.

This was literally the third & fourth time we've actually raised both sails, shut down the engine and actually sailed our new (to us) boat... and we placed 2nd in our division!, Arrrr Boy earned the "Piglet Award" for being the youngest (3 1/2 year old) skipper! and we posted 4th overall! There were 26 boats on the roster.

We hit 8.1 knots beating to weather on the way up and 9.0 knots (twice) running downwind on the homeward leg... while towing our dinghy! That's a personal, 25 year record for me and the four boats I've owned.

NINE KNOTS - TOWING A DINGHY!

And... Aye just HAD to TELL SOMEONE ABOUT IT!!!

Thanks for letting me share the moment.

To Life!

Kirk

Sign him up as an America's Cup skipper!

Sounds like both you and the boat would enjoy getting out more often. Full of beans.

cheers
