Hey everyone, we are still having a great time!

It seems that we have a big wind event predicted to come down the Sea of Cortez starting early Sunday morning and lasting through Monday night. Many of us have decided to stay put here in Muertos to let the system blow by since we have a good location for protection from Northerly conditions. However, we have had two nights in a row of 25 knot Westerlies making for some exciting two-step in the anchorage. Our anchor position has not moved a single inch and we believe we might dive on the anchor before the Northerly come through just to be sure all is well. Many of the new arrivals in Muertos drug anchor and bumped into each other. Many of them pulled anchor and left.

Yesterday we discovered a little slice of Paradise just outside of Los Muertos.that's right.even closer to nowhere. The place is a small resort built by Steve Games from San Diego called Grand Sueno. His staff treated us like royalty as we were the only guests.

The palace in the desert is constructed of towering thatched roof walk ways and elegant rooms completely furnished with hand carved wood and blown glass vases with walls covered by spectacular art. It even has a theater room located alongside the pool with the swim-up bar. Many of the sailors want to go over today and spend some time in the pools while we wait for the Northerly to pass.

A short walk from the main lodge is a 3 level fortress/bar/5-star restaurant which is dedicated to the Games toy train collection are to die for or at least be on the cover of Homes & Gardens. That is right.toy train collection that covers the walls, and entire upper level of this incredible Spanish style fortress surrounded by crystal blue swimming pools and views of Los Muertos that Once again, keep in mind that this is all located just this side of BFE!

One other interesting note about this place, Games is also a sailor and apparently is friends with Dennis Connor as there were pictures of Dennis on the walls and the two of them were reported to have sailed one of Dennis' old wooden sailboats down from San Diego just last month.

Photos of Grand Sueno have been uploaded to our blog Gallery Cabo to La Paz if you're interested.

Hi,

Sounds like you guys are having way too much fun! and in such a lovely place, too.

Find out which boat it is that Conner and Games sailed down--was it Brushfire? Inquiring minds want to know
