Is it possible to sail from Med to Asia? Particularly from Spain to Thailand?

Or is it easier to loop around the world?

If so any one know the route off hand and time to do it?

Thanks

Yes, it's easier to go across the Atlantic, via the Carribean, through the canal, and across the Pacific, if that's what you mean by "loop around the world". It's not that much further than the route via the Med/Red Sea/Indian Ocean, but you won't find too many cruising boats willing to battle it all upwind that way around.

Leave Gibraltar any time you find cruising boats heading across the Atlantic and continue from there. There are good and bad weather windows along the way, you'll probably spend a good portion of the trip waiting in port for the right one at any number of ports along the way.

Not only that but the other way round, you have to contend with the Suez Ditch, then the Piracy problems (which are very real, by the way) in the NE Indian Ocean then catch the right Monsoon period. OR - you go round the bottom of Africa.....its all do-able, but time consuming.
