An Introduction

Folks,

A newbies first post to say hello. I suppose I can class myself as a dreamer at the moment. Lou and I have a plan to push off in 6 years time with the aim of doing a circumnavigation over a period of not less than 4 years. We are a little tied up at the moment with 2 kids under 2 and more importantly, a few years left with the military before we can claim to be free of obligation.

However we are dreaming and planning and that is keeping me (at least) sane.

We manage to do some sailing, cruising on the w coast of Scotland - wonderful place - and more on the S English coast around the Solent.

I look forward to meeting more of you on the boards

A hearty welcome to both you and Lou - good to have you aboard. There is a good, friendly and knowledgeable membership here so if there is ANYTHING you want to know about cruising and the lifestyle just bombard us with your questions. Someone will be able to assist!

I trust that you will learn as much here as I do all the time.

As Lighthouse said, just ask away but, having sailed on the Scottish west coast with its strong tides, dodgy weather, whirlpools, and the dangers of the local drink, I guess you guys know a lot already.
