Default Wider audience?

Les, have you considered posting on other forums? Not that I wish to show disloyalty to this one, but Cruisers Forum Cruisers & Sailing Forums - Powered by vBulletin (still part of the Social Knowledge empire) has a much wider reach.

Default Info and updates

Thanks for the info Gordon. I will give it a go, although I will be returning here as usual, so there is no disloyalty. I have a few nice and positive comments.

Things are progressing...two local newspapers have picked up the story, so the nationals will follow. 36 days to go and so much to do. I am now spending all my time setting up contacts and sorting out camera equipment, talking to producers, marketing people and tourist offices all along the route. I am negotiating with a book publisher too. I am still concerned about the last stage of the voyage as getting from Constanta to Sunny Beach (Black Sea, Bulgaria) is going to be tricky as non of the larger vessels stop at Sunny beach, so still looking for a lift.

Did you see you poem was put on the jokes page, that's where all the puns, comments and poems etc. will go.

Thanks again,
Les

Hi Gilbotski,

It is encouraging you think so.

I don't feel very amazing at the moment with only 33 day left to sort ever thing out before the off. Some people have been truly amazing, and I have had some help that has come totally unexpectedly. There is a woman in Holland who is rewriting my website to make it better and now is setting up another which will function much better. She wrote an article (its on Transport Online nl) about the banana trip. She was intrigued by the voyage that she felt she wanted to be a part of it...for free...now that is amazing. The new website is www.gobanana.info the old site has most info a the moment, but that will change over the next few days.

Regards, Les

Default Banana voyage completed

To whom it may concern...

The Go Banana European Voyage Project travelling with a 5.5m inflatable Banana has been completed - Rotterdam to Constanta, travelling over all the in-land waterways, towed by ships, boats or barge pushers, twice carried by cargo ships and eventually fitted with a 5hp outboard to sail down (at least) 500km of the Danube before being towed along the Constanta canal taking exactly 4 calender months for the whole trip. 75 locks, 9 countries and four capital cities were navigated and the Banana has gone missing...have a look at my Facebook site - Goban Ana - or www.gobanana.info for photos and all the press and television coverage...the book will be written shortly...thank you to those who have followed my progress. Best wishes, bon voyage, Les Donohue-Bromley
