Greetings!

I have been sailing around the windwards and leewards for a while now and had planned on transiting the Panama Canal this March, but an opportunity to stock up my cruising kitty has come up and that means I'll miss out this year's trip and postpone the continuation of my circumnavigation until next season. The picture below is of Zanshin , a Jeanneau 49DS which I singlehand and which will hopefully take me around the globe in comfort and sufficient speed.

I put together a website at http://www.sv-zanshin.com with pictures and commentaries for those willing to look at yet more Caribbean pictures and wade through pages of boat-related text.

I look forward to learning a lot on this forum.

Welcome to our friendly forums "Zanshin".

Nice boat and Interesting name - what does it mean?

Make yourself at home - "JeanneP" is laying on the drinks this week.

Welcome, Arnd. She's a lovely boat. Take your time, the Caribbean is still a wonderful destination and you will find it to have some of the best winds in the tropics. A bit boisterous lots of the time, but usually very reliable, and the only place where we knew almost to the hour when we would arrive at our next destination. Except when we got a bit complacent and made one of our silly mistakes!

Each island nation seems to have its own "flavor" and some cruising boats just can't leave the Caribbean. It's not the worst place to be, though, as with most places, it isn't the same as it was 25 or 30 years ago. But then, neither are any of us!

Cocktail hour, a toast to you.
