Question Don't have my sea legs, but looking to get them crossing the Atlantic

Hello. I've been around boats a little for most of my life but haven't really gotten the experience or knowledge I'd like to have. I'm hoping to cross the Atlantic sometime late this summer (2012) going from Europe to the US or Caribbean. Does anyone know if this is feasible?

Welcome aboard.

If you have a boat, yes. However, I suspect there's more to your story here. Like maybe you don't yet have a boat?

I immediately have a lot of questions for you. How about more of your story for us? Like what kind of boating? (was it sailing?) Do you have a boat (is it a sailboat)? What is special about the particular timeframe (time off from work is available, etc?)

Please tell us more. And, again, welcome. Please look around and ask questions or contribute where you can.

Fair winds,

Ahh. I can see how more info is needed, thanks. I've been boating on a lake for most my life, when I was a kid I went to a sailing school for a week, and I know and like knots because of scouts. I don't have a boat, am taking the year off before college to travel, and thought I would try and find a way back to the states from Europe via crewing.
