Thanks for your time. I'm a writer and would like to get a rough idea of how long it would take my character to sail from Brisbane to the Solomon Islands. Can anyone please share their experience?

HI,

You need to supply more information about your characters vessel, course, time of year.

All these things determine the length of time to make the passage.

I look forward to getting this supplemental information.

Cheers

Rob

Thanks for your interest, Rob!

He's a man in his late 40's, owns the yacht but not a serious sailor. If he left from Brissie and picked up a couple of crew members in the Whitsundays would that be sufficient to get him to the Solomon's in one piece? He's setting sail early October.

As you can probably tell, I'm pretty clueless on sailing! He's a very wealthy man with lots of toys... maybe you can tell me what size/sort of yacht he'd be likely to own? He's the sort of guy that likes a lot of flash and sparkle.

Have an awesome weekend (I'm not loving these Noreasterlies!),

Tess
