I am beginning to research boats and boat ownership in preparation for retirement in a very few years.

I have sailed only once aboard a wonderful vessel out of Camden, Maine called the Angelique and was hooke on sailing.

I think I would like to do some long distances with a very small crew or possibly solo.

My inspiration is "ALONE AROUND THE WORD" by Joshua Slocum.

G'Day and welcome, Canonball.

Sounds like you've got a plan! Good luck and have fun achieving it.

Welcome Canonball,

The Angelique certainly one of the great windjammers - saw her a couple of times up in Great Cove off Brooklin - Maine.
