Default Hello from a newbie

Hi all,

We are Valerie and Stan. Our vessel, Buffalo Nickel, is an aluminum-hulled, Steve Dashew-designed FPB-64. It's a long range power boat, just the two of us aboard.

We left the U.S. in 2009 and spend most of each year living aboard, cruising internationally. We spent a couple of years in Pacific Mexico, then Central America, Galapagos. Then New Zealand, Fiji, Vanuatu, Australia, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia.

We are now in Phuket, Thailand where we will continue our exploration of SE Asia both aboard and via regional land travel.

Welcome! That's a great boat and great cruising you've enjoyed so far. Please do tell us more -- and feel free to contribute to the forums here as you can.

Fair winds,
Brenda

Hey Buffalo Nickel, my wife and I are going to be purchasing in 2017, to do a long cruise from Juneau, AK down through the Panama Canal and up to the Virgin Islands, for starters. We are giving serious consideration to a Motor Cruiser. We've owned sailboats in the past, but we're looking for something that will also be a wonderful liveaboard for ourselves and our two young boys.

What are your fuel expenses on your vessel? Upkeep costs?

Hello Valarie and Stan, we are Mike and Proud I am US and Proud is Thai we are thinking of purchasing a sail boat and sailing asia. However I have very little sailing experience. I do own a 40' Scarbb twin 502's in America and have had large cruiser power boats all my life. You saying that you are traveling in a power boat that distance interests me a lot. Would love to ask some questions and even have dinner with you if you are still in thailand. My email is mlsinvest@gmail.com
Thanks
Mike and Proud
