I am Michael from Miami. I am refitting my Lippincott 30 in preparation for a 3-6 week cruise through the keys and Dry Tortugas this fall. This site looks like it will be a great place to get sound advice on repairs and maintenance and make contact with others who like to float around on the water.

Welcome, Michael!

Is your Lippincott 30 standard (4'11") or a shoal draft model? My sister-in-law lived in Key Largo for 15 years and enjoyed the boating all throughout the Keys. I often noted when visiting her (and out on the boat) that literally every inch of draft counts against you in those waters.

Best of luck with your refit

Thanks, I will need some luck on this effort.

I have the standard draft and you are right, here in south Florida the shallower the draft, the better.

Welcome aboard Mick. We hope to hear all about what you're doing with your refit - and your future plans.
