I am in the throws of selling land and buying a Westsail 43 Cutter. It is in Long Beach CA. and I figure on bringing it around to the Gulf, I need a cheap spot to keep it while the family (Wife and two kids 12 and 14), boat and home gets ready to cruise. I have many questions and am happy to find this forum.

Hi Tad!

I am in Houston Texas and have wobbled around here for 30 years or so. What part of Texas are you going to bring your new maiden to? I may have a few places if I know where you arre coming. Remember nothings really "cheap" but we do try to find the best available at the lowest cost! Goo

d luck as you pursue your dreams, so few actually do it!

Hi Tad ... congrats on your move towards cruising. We left about five years ago and just love it. All of the cruising kids we have met are extremely smart and we are so impressed with their skills (in other words we think cruising is a great opportunity for kids as well). When we first left we had a number of friends who were leaving the year after us, so we started throwing up information about "what works" (for us) while cruising. Eventually we realized other people were reading it, so we tried to organize it a bit ... anyway it's an evolving site, but you might find some useful information on it (it's completely free by the way): http://www.creative-cruising.com/sailing-what-works.htm . We are happy to answer questions - anything to help get people out here cruising!

Cheers

Chris & KT
