Default Jeremy - 24 - New Sailor! Hello!

My name is Jeremy. I am currently 24 years old, working in Los Angeles, eagerly learning all I can about sailing so I can travel the world.

I have many questions, but for starters does anyone know of a great place to learn on a boat out of Los Angeles (Long Beach, Marina del Rey, Malibu...). I am looking for specific people or boats that are looking for eager young gentlemen such as myself to work aboard and learn all they can.

I have very little experience at this point so I will be asking a lot of questions as they come to me and I find the appropriate threads to post in.

Best to you all.

- JS

Welcome aboard. Enjoy the forums. You can search forums to get info on how others have obtained sailing experience.

Suggest you look up all your local yacht clubs, call them, get the name of the person in charge of their informal (beer can) races. Volunteer as crew. Explain your situation and go for it. You can also show up at the clubs and get the same info--up to you as to how you go about it.

Good luck,

Thank you, Red. I've been reading many of your posts and appreciate the information.
