Smile Intro

hi everyone, my husband and I are looking to get our yacht masters this year and are currently looking at blue Oyster in Barcelona. I am also looking into a company in Greece as it has always been a dream of mine to sail in Greece. I found this forum when googling " where is the best place to get your yacht masters" and look forward to reading all the posts. We have many questions about whether to buy or rent, put a boat in a charter programme ( research so far is coming up with the answer...no!!!') and what to look for when buying.
I grew up sailing with my father in Nova Scotia and Ontario and my husband raced out of RCYC in Toronto for many years. We have bare boat chartered a few times in the BVI's ( sailing for dummies) and are hoping to get either a mono hull or a cat and sail the world a few months at a time in the future.
Sorry for the long winded intro.

Hi, I have sailed Greece many times and happy to help you. One question though? Why do you want a yacht master qualification? Do you have all the experiences heading to this or are you going to try get it without? In Greece you need minimum RYA day skipper or ICC, an American yacht master is not usually good enough in Europe. I have both chartered and owned in this area, charter is very expensive and monohull is best for this area too. Happy to help any way I can. Regards. Ady

Default Sailing in Greece Reply

We are presently in Mallorca with Deep Blue Sea Sailing School and have completed the Yacht Masters theory, competent crew, day skipper and are on our last day of Yacht Masters Pre exam week. We do not necessarily need to get your Yacht Masters certificate but have definitely benefited from the knowledge and the experience. We would like to take one more yacht masters prep week somewhere in tidal waters and would most definitely like to do a few weeks in Greece.
