Hello all,

I have just joined, and would like to say, that I enjoy sharing any info that I might be able to give. I have raced all over the states and the islands as well as delivered many types of boats, I used to do sailing instruction for a US sailing accredited school in New England as well as run a 48' race boat, most recent project is a recommission of a bone stock Gozzard 36 for a friend while also sailing it to the Keys from New Orleans.

Welcome aboard!

Although this is a cruising rather than a racing forum I feel sure that you have a lot of good information to share.

Enjoy!

Yes it is true that I have raced but my field mostly is commissioning boats to better suit individuals sailing, I have also cruised more miles than raced so I guess I could be called a cruiser/racer. We all know that while cruising we will see a boat on the horizon and can't help but to find out whom it is, A little tweak here and there and guess what "your racing", eeking a little more speed to close the gap, and then when you catch that person you wave as you take them to windward, Happens all the time.

Welcome aboard!

Sounds like you'll have lots of info to share with others about outfitting/refitting their boats. Albeit, cruising is a bit different than racing--but no one--racer or cruiser--likes gear that breaks just when its needed to work.

Fair winds,

Brenda
