Wow!

What a great resource..I'm a lifelong boater; power, sail, paddle. I currently crew on a racing monohull 44.7 Beneteau "Four Stars" which I had the fun of sailing back to Newport from Bermuda after the Marion to Bermuda race this past summer. That experience taught me that it is possible to cruise offshore in a small boat. I currently own a 37' 1965 Egg Harbor convertible that's a classsic wooden sportfishing boat which was one of the boats that made big game fishing accessable to the postwar middle class. My wife and I have our sights set on a Privilege catamaran for an extended cruise of the carribean and beyond. A catamaran seems to me to be the best of all worlds in terms of sailing performance, accommodations and safety, not to mention sustainability. I am currently searching for any Privilege owners in the northeast who can share their cruising experiences with me.

Hi David and welcome aboard.

If you want to start a lively debate in your local boat club bar....just ask people to explain why mono's and better than multi's....or vice versa.

It doesn't matter whether you are sailing a reclining lounge chair, a kayak or a superyacht...power or sail....as long as you have an affinity for boats you're very welcome here.

Cheers

David.

Excellant information on Cruising with a multihull ( I am biased as also being a multihuller)

Good luck

Richard

Just as most cat owners I started out on a monohull. I can say they both have their place, but I have grown to prefer a cat. My reasoning being that much of our time is at anchor, or hopefully off of the wind. That is the plus to a cat, and also the space.

The minus, and it is a big one. Is going to weather can be hard on the nerves, and the boat. There is a Privelege for sale in my marina just south west of Jacksonville Fl. The people just moved ashore into a condo. If you like I can get some information for you.....................
