Hi all! Just signing up and saying hi. I live in Central California and cruise the Channel Islands every chance we get. Longer range plans are to hopefully head south and beyond with wife and two kids. Looking forward to learning from all and sharing anything I might have to offer. Now, where do I get a cold one.....!

Welcome aboard Johnny. Good to have you in our crew.

Lighthouse just went off to bed but I think we can sneak in and get a cold one, or even two, from his cool box!

Welcome aboard Johnnymac - great to have you with us.

Please note that the beers are on "Swagman" all week - he'll be along shortly to unlock his stash.

Make yourself at home.

Absolute rubbish about me beers.

Reminds me of that Kiwi walking down the road with two sheep under his arms. 'Are you shearing them?' asked his mate.

'No way' he responded 'I'm not shearing these with anyone'.

Welcome Jonny - hope you enjoy the mateship on this board as much as most.

JOHN

Welcome about Johnny, Swagman is really tight with his beers (seems to think that they are liquid gold) but MNETSEA has a few, but we will have to sneak in and swipe them.

Enjoy the board it is great...

WELCOME....

The Only thing I know about the Channels Islands is second hand, except for me sailing past them twice. Going south once, and returning home for the scond time. My friends who have spent time there....LOVE'EM.

Heading south with 2 youngsters is a great oppurtunity for them, and for you too. Young sailors seem to be more level headed, and responsible. Not to mention opening up their world via travelling. BEST WISHES in getting south, and living life!...........i2f

Thanks for the welcome all. It looks like the next round is on me! Sorry for sneaking off with some of your stash swag, I took Lighthouses advice and made myself at home, they were good and cold!

i2F - Stop by the Islands next time, worth the trip. You can find almost anything you are looking for there and the sailing in the channel is good, bonus points if you are a surfer.... Your right about the kiddies, I grew up on boats and even worked Morro Bay Harbor Patrol for 12 years (got some stories there), but I have more fun watching them have fun and get the skills and confidence that come from being on a boat - they love it. If the world keeps collapsing, I might find myself heading south sooner than later!

Cheers and thanks again for the warm welcome.
