Hello all - I'm a wanta be cruiser - I grew up on boats (50' Elco M/V and 63' Consolidated M/V - which says something of my age!) I have looked at just about every boaat around and think for my purposes a PDQ34 motor cat is just right for my needs sometime in the future - in the meantime I dream and read as much as I can about cruising especially Fla and the Caribbean. Before everybody jumps in - I know that PDQ is no longer but Pearson has purchased the molds and is going to continue production. I have read with great interest of S/V Watermelons cruiseing and change to a M/V Watermelon - glad you had the opportunity to do the BIG trip last year - must have been FABULOUS! I look forward to reading more and learning more - Maineiac

One of PDQ's appealing programs was "PDQ U", to give PDQ boat owners new to the cruising life, a mini course in cruising on these boats. There will be one this summer near the Pearson operation in Warren, RI, and a gathering of PDQ owners and boats in Block Island later in the month. Peter and I are planning on being there for the Block Island visit, and probably will check out PDQ U and the Pearson operation too. Peter used to live in RI, and we still have friends in New England so it's a great excuse for us to toddle up and visit for a few weeks.

If you would like to hear more about it, let me know and I'll put you in touch with the organizers at Rhumb Line Yacht Sales.

I do like our boat, I must say that the thought of driving a 63' boat would be daunting. That would be bigger than our house!
