Hello all,

I'm new here and have decided to end my lifestyle on -shore here in the UK. I'm 45

I am currently planning everything out where I end up with a nice little sailing yacht capable of taking me across oceans and seas.

I will be living aboard and have found some nice yachts out there to suit my needs which I will be doing on a very tight shoestring budget.

I will soon learn how to sail as I will be solo and i've heard all the stories of scaring people etc and read plenty of logs and journeys and still not detered.

I'm not new to the oceans or seas and have been in hurricanes heading off the beaufort scale where we have had to put out to sea to ride it out so this side is not a problem.

I will be doing the navigating/sailing this time round on my own which is not the same as been on a fishing trawler and this is where the similarity ends.

I look forward to hearing from others and am ready to listen and learn.

Thanks Lighthouse, I am so enjoying the planning and looking just now so I'll end up with what I want. I might increase my budget to double as it will give me a better choice with very little work to get her ready.
