Hi all, i just wanted to check in and say a few words. first off i am fairly new to the world of sailing and have decided to jump head first into it. i have recently found my self in the perfect situation, unemployed and free! i am 25 with a college education and a few years work experience in the "real" world. i was a project manager for a home building company. so the market sealed my fate.
so my journey begins; i am self employed currently and am unable to get motivated to beat my self up like everyone else is doing right now so i am going to travel for the next year. i thought long and hard about this and in which way i wanted to do this traveling. i plan on experiencing several forms but i quickly realized that a year is not that long and the most efficient way to see the world is by boat. understanding that i cant see everything and will miss out on certain inland experiences is just a trade off for another type of adventure and extremely unique experiences. i say a fair trade!
i am in the pacific northwest and it is currently 10 am and 17 degrees while it is sunny and i enjoy this weather it will start raining again soon and for a long time. so i want to go somewhere warm. at least first. i want to involve myself in some amazing adventures and trust me i am very capable of handling all types of them.
i supose i am getting more into the crew posting info so i will post there with more detail. i appreciate any info, ideas, thoughts that any experienced travelers can offer. i have been a explorer all my life but not to offten by sea. this is a once in a life time oppertunity and i am just glad i was able to recognize it when it smacked me in the face!
happy to be on board,
Dusty
