hey guys!

Firstly, just want to thank you for such an awesome website!

Anyways i am new to this sailor/pirate voyage super adventure concept and would maybe like someone to point me in a good direction. although there are loads of threads on this site that i am reading i would just like to put down my story too.

At the moment i am a 22 year old strong male seeking for some sort of adventure over the seas and a possible a run-in with Captain Hook!(recommended?)

I am based in Cape Town so starting here would be crucial for me as i am lacking the funds to travel. Ideally i would like to be payed to be part of the crew if that is possible and if so what sort of sea vessels should i be searching for? and who to talk too.

Are there such trips that would bring me back to Cape Town or would i have to join a different crew once we have reached the final destination. A trip back would be perfect as i am unable to afford a flight back from who-knows-where.

I am ready to go so the sooner the better.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Matt

Welcome aboard Matt. Hope you find your sailing dream. Start by doing some crewing on boats in Cape Town - pop down to the yacht clubs and try to get a "ride" on boats daysailing/racing out of Cape Town to get the "feel" of things. Pop along to a local sailing school to find out what it is all about and how to go about getting some experience and qualifications.

Good luck.
