Hi everyone from a waterlogged, flood ravaged cold Hawaii! Just become a newbie forum member, and hope to talk about ebooks at some point.

Welcome aboard--glad to see you made it to the tavern. I know you're not a newbie sailor--how about sharing a paragraph or two with our members about your cruising experience?

Thanks!

a paragraph or two couldn't do it justice, but in a nut shell, (thanks Redbopeep for giving me the opportunity) I built a 31' sailboat from the keel up in Johannesburg, South Africa during the uprising in the mid seventies and trucked her to a fresh water lake for a year where my wife and I had a fabulous time learning to sail her and meeting friends etc, then trucked her a thousand miles to Cape Town (Johannesburg is landlocked by six hundred miles
We had another round of great fun and some very scary experiences in the stormy cape. I then cruised from the Cape to the west indies and beyond into the Pacific and onwards. If I may say at this stage that I wrote a book about all these experiences (took ten years to write!) has lots of color pics and reads like a novel. It is an ebook, and if there are any readers on the forum interested, I will gladly give you the link. I don't want to abuse my privileges here....Y'all take care now!

At some point, go to it on ebooks. Maybe we can compare notes. Though everything I knew seems to be so outdated that I'm going to have to start over. New tablet computer in the wings, will work on it and report. When I've figured it out.

well, I feel the same, as I cruised in the eighties and early nineties, and GPS was just a three letter dream...so take heart, because when I do take young 'uns sailing I can still teach 'em some new tricks!

Anyway, keep cruising or dreaming of cruising, it's still all out there, and if you happen to stumble upon a book called Days of Deja vu, you could send a wink my way
