My name is Bob, on board "THE EDGE" a 38ft Shannon ketch. I homeport in Colington NC in the summer, but winter in the Bahamas. Currently in Marsh Harbour Bahamas.

G'day Bob. Very nice looking yacht you have there. Tell us more & pics too, please. That's a fine looking genoa & well set also. Do you fly the ketch-sail very often & does it make any difference. I've flown a few on several yachts but could never make up my mind if it really was worth all the effort. We could all learn from your observations I'm sure. Stay in here with us & welcome. Thank You. When I'm by myself, I set the genoa and the mizzen,[like in the photo] if winds are more than 15knts. The Mizzen helps to balance the helm, actually you don't even have to steer, just adjust the sails. The main goes up when more people are on board or the wind drops out. The only time I use the stay-sail is when the wind pipes up over 35knts , then I roll the genoa up and reef the main, then the mizzen as the wind continues to build. Bob
