Sandettie was laid down in 1963 and launched in 1964. She has a significant history having been built for James Napier-White for the specific purpose of racing in the North Sea and for contesting the Fastnet race in the UK. It is highly likely that she campaigned in your area and that you saw her racing off Breskens.
The owner created the Middle Sea race aboard this boat. The Rolex Middle Sea Race is now one of the most prestigious sailing races on the planet. My dream is to sail Sandettie back to Malta for the 50th anniversary of the first running of the race.
