Hello everybody, I just wanted to say hey, my name is Joe and I've had a dream for quite sometime about sailing, we ( wife and I ) took our first lessons a couple of weeks ago and loved it, (we want to know what were doing out there). I'm not old enough to retire yet but am ready to get out so my question is what can a guy do out there to help make ends meet, I'm a heavy equipment mechanic by trade but I can fix about anything I'm very handy, I've had my own motorcycle shop sence 2000 mostly Harleys but I do the dirt bike and quads to help out the kids even a little outboard motor repair once in awhile. Could a guy like me be of any use on the high seas. Just wondering.

Thanks, Joe

Get to learn diesels as well as petrol engines and you'll be more than handy.

Cool, good to know, I've been working on diesels for 25yrs Cummins, Detroit, CAT, Perkins,Izuzu, Kubota plus petrol, sounds like I'll need a good size dingy just for my tools lol. Thanks for the feed back this is a great web site, all kinds of info and good people.

How about an update to the group on your progress with sailing?

Fair winds,
