Smile yacht purchase

Hi
I would just like to ask ,has anybody cruised a gibsea 43 ?
My wife and I have many years of dinghy/offshore racing and cruising experience , but are now starting to look for a suitable boat to go further afield. We have a budget of around 80k to purchase the boat and quite like the gibsea, but would like some feedback from anyone who has owned or cruised one. If any one could also recommend a suitable boat for us between 38 and 45 ft that would be great.

Thanks
Rainbow23

I don't have experience with the particular boat--I know it is said to be a good bluewater boat but I don't know much more than that. I just wanted to give you this link Sailboat Reviews of Offshore Cruising Yachts : Bluewaterboats.org since it is a great site with info about particularly good bluewater (cruising) boats. Cross reference between Yachtworld and the boats, you should get an idea of average price. Note--many boats sell for 1/2 the listing price, so knowing how long a particular boat has been on the market is important these days.

If you have about 80K total to spend, you might wish to look at boats for about 1/2 that budget. Most/many people spend as much in upgrades and other things getting ready to cruise as they spend on the boat itself--so your other 40K will go for that stuff.

Fair winds,
