Deciding we needed a larger spot to store our ever increasing library, our beady lil eyes alighted upon a large bulkhead whose only purpose seemed to be providing a flat surface to store one of those mass produced, daggy teak plate and cup units that are common on many older vessels.
Out it went and after a lot of huffing n puffing in the workshop we built a neat glass fronted bookcase out of teak and beach inlay.
Only problem was - where do we now put the glasses, cups plates and saucers?
Off to the magical world of Bunnings (Oz hardware chain).
We came across some stock standard, cheap as chips door handles in stainless steel. The kind you get with tapped screws for bolting through.
A bit of cutting and sanding on some scrap teak and bob's ya uncle! All neat and tidy as though we had planned it all along!
The glasses and cup rack are simply sets of handles screwed in place to the bulkhead and bench top surface.
Still looking for a handy spot for the hot tub!
