PS..For interest's sake, the rock wallaby depicted here (King George River. The Kimberlies. WA) is probably about the size and weight of a 12 month old labrador.

I wonder about the rest of the story....

By the time the reptile devours, the deceased mammal, (which appears the reptiles' intention), the snake, is going to end rather large, hunger satisfied, in the water, and perhaps unable to swim...

...full, but in big trouble.
When in doubt, do the right thing.
