I've seen stainless steel and plastic magnetic spice jars that can stacked or can be stuck onto the metal strip rack designed for them. Does anyone have these? Do they hold up to the boat environment? Stay put when heeling or boucing around in waves? Seal well?

They've recently been in the reduced bins at the local mall and I was thinking of getting one for a boating friend for Christmas and one for myself while I'm at it.

I'm not in favor of anything that hangs on by magnets alone. *In good weather it won't make any difference, but if you hit a bad patch the chances are that eventually the bottles/jars will slide down and fall. *In bad weather, that means you will step into the galley holding on for dear life and possibly step on these things rolling around underfoot. *Putting them away before a passage may be the disciplined thing to do, but that unexpected storm that sneaks up on you the third day out is a bummer.
