Having spent so much time in the Med either motoring/beating hard to windward or flappng sails directly downwind, I want a booming out pole, track, car, etc

5.2m pole would be good as I could store it vertically on the mast, but it needs to be reasonably strong as the boat is a Bruce Roberts 53. Crew is me and wife only, so I am not going for a 8.5m length of foot of sail job - we would never use it as it would be too heavy.

Wintering in Ayios Nikolaos, Crete

Hi John,

I have used a windsurfing mast with an ABS clew grab fitted on the end, it was very light and strong. They come in lengths around 4.6 to 5.8 metres. I had another one which I fitted out with a boat hook - good for a Catamaran. Ebay ????
