I hear everyone talk about the strong El Nino, I can see many of it's affects here in Puerto Vallarta, but no one has given me a straight answer as to what to expect as we sail into French Polynesia and beyond.

I'd like to hear a good synopsis from someone in the know.

Hello Ken,

Where are you at the moment ? No special input here except to repeat that a strong El Niņo produces hurricanes in Hawaii and cyclones in French Polynesia. We certainly have had a string of cyclones in FP's waters Very recently. I guess someone will insist that El Niņo is responsible.

Richard

Hey Richard!

Sitting here in Puerto Vallarta waiting till end of March to cross. The weather here has been muy malo! Rain storms coming through once a week and some with 80-100 mph wind bursts. Several of the boats on anchor in La Cruz ended up on the beach including some friends of ours. We are glad we just happened to be in the marina that night.

I'm pretty sure we are having a strong El Nino...I remember this type of weather in LA back in 92 ish that produced the same events and the water in Redondo Beach reached 80 degrees that year during November. The water here in PV is in the 80s.

Winds and currents going South East are looking good however.
