We are thinking about chartering a bareboat in July in Greece. Probably a 7 day. Does anyone here have any recommendation/suggestions? What islands should we hit?

To help prepare yourself, have a look through the GREECE SECTION on the World Cruising Wiki.

Where would you prefer to start your charter from?

We just arrived in the Ionian sea, at the island Corfu, currently at the Gouvia Marina. We are told that the winds in summer are quieter here, than other regions, where you can get unexpected gales. Also there is a lot of places and nice bays to visit, in principle also less crowded. A few charter companies operates from here, so I suggest you contact the marina in order to have all contacts.

Tomorrow we go en route to the island Paxos, so if you want to discover those places, just follow us via our blog, where we give comments about places and marinas and publish thousands of pictures

Wishing you good winds

Philippe

PS: we live on board and have sailed since a year in Portugal, Spain (including Baleares), Italy and now Greece
