A large number of cruising circumnavigators will be joining the Heineken "Cape to Bahia '09" yacht race across the Atlantic in January.

The Royal Cape Yacht Club's South Atlantic Race is one of the world's classic ocean races, and the 2009 edition, the Heineken Cape to Bahia Yacht Race, promises to be one of the most exciting and hotly contested versions of the event.

We wish everyone a safe, good crossing.

The cruising fleet started today. We wish them all well and a fast, safe crossing in their quest for some of the "silver".

One of our forum members "stingo" is participating in the Cape to Bahia yacht race and left amongst the "cruising" fleet yesterday on his catamaran "Stingo".

We all wish him a good and safe race.
