I am going with a friend of mine to St. Martin beginning of December with a one-way-ticket...

I am just wondering, if i might get problems to enter the island. I am from germany and my friend is from france... since St. Martin is half french, we actually shouldn`t need a out-ticket, since we are both citizen of the european union... but i don`t know, if they have special regulations for the caribbean islands...

someone knows more details about this?

Thx, Michael

See ST MARTIN on the World Cruising Wiki for Immigration details.

Hope that helps, or, contact your nearest French embassy.

The problem is that you will be entering on the Dutch side of the island, Sint Maarten, at Juliana Airport. They could very well keep you from entering because Sint Maarten is not part of the EU and does require an outbound ticket. They have only your word that you will be on the French side. I know that in years past all French citizens arriving on the island arrived with a round-trip ticket, the return portion was always being flogged by those who arrived with plans to remain.

Your best bet is to ask your airline carrier, and if they say you can arrive on a one-way ticket, get their answer in writing to protect yourselves in the cse of bad advice.
